JALAPÃO

IT’S LOCATED

in the State of Tocantins, the heart of Brazil.

To arrive in Jalapão, visitors must fly into Palmas, capital of the Brazilian state of Tocantins, and drive five to six hours eastward on unpaved roads. Yes, it's an offroad adventure!

Among the attractions, there are breathtaking landscapes, the fervedouros (which are unique karst springs), adventurous activities like rafting, kayaking, and trekking, many rivers and waterfalls, and of course, dunes!

It covers approximately 400,000 acres amid the dry typography of Brazil’s Cerrado region.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Read our travel recommendations in our blog here. (coming soon)

There’s new infrastructure being built on a regular basis, but you should expect the constrains of a remote region (there's little signal on the road, but hotels do have wifi).

And it's family friendly; travel agencies are ready to support children and elderly needs, so you can travel with the whole family!
